No, access to the palace parks is free of charge. NB: With the exception of occasional special events such as Diggiloo and Sessions.

The palace parks are open all year around, around the clock.

Yes, dogs are allowed in the gardens when kept on a leash.

Visitors are most welcome to enjoy a picnic in our palace parks. Please remember to take litter home or dispose of it in the bins provided, normally located at the edges of the parks.  The permission does not apply to furnished events, events with loudspeaker systems or the like. The texts are in Swedish and English, and is illustrated with new and historic photos. There is no ban on having barbecues that your bring yourself or at permanent barbecue sites (note the exceptions: Gripsholm and Strömsholm, see below). However, we ask that our visitors respect the surroundings, show awareness where there is a ban on lighting fires, and follow the municipality’s local regulations. This means that it is not permitted to litter, damage the ground or cause a fire risk. NB: Disposable barbecues may not be used on our lawns, keep these on gravelled surfaces.  Gripsholm: No barbecuing/lighting fires is permitted at Slottsholmen Strömsholm: No barbecuing/lighting fires is permitted in the park.

Outdoor weddings arranged as standing, acoustic ceremonies without furniture are permitted in our parks. This is part of the right of public access so it is not bookable, nor does it cost anything. However, we ask you to avoid the areas closest to our palaces, where guided tours are held both indoors and outdoors. Please respect the fact that our parks are for everyone and that is why it is not possible to cordon off parts of the park for private use, nor to drive vehicles in our park areas.
